What makes BTG different from traditional treatment facilities? Will my insurance cover my treatment? What about my personal property & valuables? Can I send/receive mail or care packages? Can I make personal phone calls while in treatment? How can I be certain that I have an addiction? I am not calling for myself. What’s my next step?
What makes BTG different from traditional treatment facilities? Bridging The Gaps is one of the ONLY treatment facilities on the East Coast that offers a complete continuum of care and provides both traditional and bio-chemical therapy. Our IV amino acids and oral nutritional supplements balance brain chemistry, helping to eliminate the cravings and mood swings experienced by most addicts/alcoholics. This therapy allows our clients to engage in treatment more quickly and effectively. BTG's unique, integrative approach to addiction treatment addresses the physical, spiritual, and psychological aspects of addiction to illegal and prescription drugs, alcohol, and substance dependency. Our clients experience a home-like atmosphere in a community with a small town feel – slowing life down just a bit to make recovery a priority.
What do you treat? BTG treats adults who are suffering from addiction or abuse of illicit drugs, prescription drugs, and alcohol. We also address secondary mental health diagnoses such as depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety. However, we do not treat severe mental illness.
What are your programs? Bridging The Gaps offers a variety of holistic, integrative treatment options to meet a client’s particular needs:
What is the cost? This depends on the level of care and the length of treatment required to meet the client’s needs. The cost for our residential program is all-inclusive, covering accommodations, food, gym membership, transportation, oral & IV nutrient therapy, counseling and educational sessions, yoga, and other amenities. The cost for our Day Treatment program includes all of the above with the exception of accomodations and weekend meals. We accept various forms of payment – cash, checks, most major credit cards, and PRIVATE insurance. Call our admissions staff 24/7 at 1-866-711-1234 or 540-535-1111.
Will my insurance cover my treatment? Most insurance plans have benefits for “mental health/substance abuse treatment” and will reimburse some portion of your treatment. At BTG, we accept PRIVATE insurance; however we are NOT in network with any insurance plans. Our staff is prepared and equipped to file insurance claims and conduct comprehensive follow-up on your behalf.
What do you provide? BTG residential clients are housed in one of our comfortable, fully furnished, and attractively decorated home-like residences. Our 24-hour residential staff, who are especially sensitive to the needs of people in recovery, transport our clients to and from all activities and appointments and ensure that their meals and snacks are nutritionally sound. Our Day Treatment clients share in the meals and snacks provided during the treatment week. Upon admission, all clients receive a complete and intensive clinical assessment and history & physical to determine their appropriateness for BTG and BTG’s appropriateness for them! Our program includes individual and group counseling (including off-site activities), biochemical/nutritional education and counseling, oral and IV nutrient therapy, acu-detox, reiki, yoga, massage, acupuncture, and a fitness program.
What should I bring? At BTG, we aim to "keep the main thing, the main thing." For our clients, "the main thing" is recovery! In order to maintain that focus, clients are asked to bring only the following:
All other necessary items will be provided by BTG. There are some items that we ask our residential clients NOT to bring:
We institute these limits for the safety of our clients and to ensure that they are not distracted from their business of recovery. Day treatment clients are not allowed to bring these items with them to the treatment center and are encouraged to restrict their use in their home while in treatment. In accordance with BTG’s treatment philosophy, sugar and/or caffeine are NOT to be consumed in any of our facilities or vehicles. Clients are permitted to smoke only in designated areas outside BTG facilities and residences.
What about my personal property & valuables? We strongly recommend that our residential clients secure proper storage for their valuables before their arrival at BTG. Monies, credit cards, traveler’s checks, etc. that must accompany the client will be stored in a lock box in the main office. Client must have the approval of their Primary Counselor to access their funds. All personal effects that have been stored in the lock box will be returned upon completion of the program.
Can I send/receive mail or care packages? Yes. Incoming mail/care packages should be sent to BTG’s main address to the attention of the client. Mail is distributed daily to clients at the respective houses by the residential staff. Outgoing mail can be dropped off at the administrative building for delivery. The client is solely responsible for postage/delivery expenses.
Can I have visitors? Residential clients can receive visitors upon completion of ONE FULL WEEK of treatment. Clients MUST make arrangements with their Primary Counselor THREE days prior to the day of visitation. All VISITORS are REQUIRED to have attended at least one of the weekly Family Group sessions prior to each weekly visit. This activity is limited to weekends ONLY!
Can I make personal phone calls while in treatment? If you are a residential client, you can make phone calls at designated times from the residential house phone. Clients are allotted 15 minutes per day. These minutes DO NOT roll over! BTG appreciates that clients have lives outside of treatment that demand attention. However, because recovery is the “main thing,” we strongly recommend that they address all pressing personal business prior to admission and/or make arrangements for coverage while they are “away.”
Can people call me? Yes. People can call in to our main office and leave a message, which will be conveyed to you through your primary counselor. You will be able to return the call in the evening under stipulated phone-use guidelines. Keep in mind that your privacy is protected under State and Federal law. Clients must complete and sign authorization forms upon admission for EACH person with whom they authorize BTG to speak. Otherwise, BTG will NOT be able to confirm or deny to a caller your presence in our program.
Will I have my own room? The bedrooms in our residences are purposefully designed to accommodate two people. We believe that isolation in a private room is a detriment to recovery. Being a part of a community is a valuable component of the recovery process.
How can I be certain that I have an addiction? Consider the following:
I am not calling for myself. What’s my next step? Talk to your friend or loved one about your concerns, and share with them what you have learned from our website. Then, if they will agree, have them call us. Having direct contact with the potential client is extremely helpful to the admissions process. He/she will very likely have many questions and concerns that our staff would be glad to address. This direct contact often helps the potential client take that necessary step to being ready and willing to enter treatment. We are confident that your loved one, significant other, or employee will appreciate your investment of time and energy geared toward their recovery.
We hope the information on this website has provided you with answers to your preliminary questions. However, if you still have some concerns or need further information, please fill out our inquiry form. Our admissions staff will respond to your inquiry quickly and confidentially. |
