Holistic Addiction Treatment Breaks the Cycle of Failure
|
In 1991, Stan Stokes founded Bridging The Gaps (BTG) Integrative Addiction Treatment to help addicts break the cycle of failure. His own struggle to overcome alcoholism taught him that addiction is a “whole person” disease requiring simultaneous treatment of the body, the mind, and the spirit. If any of the three components is not addressed, the addict is set up to relapse and the cycle of failure begins.
 |
Alcohol and drug addiction has tragic consequences for the individuals who suffer from this disease, and for those who are close to them. However, despite the best intentions and efforts of the medical and mental health communities, the recovery rate for addicts has been well below 30%. Addicts soon find themselves in the Cycle of Failure, on a never-ending emotional rollercoaster: Treatment, Relapse, Back to Treatment. Clearly, conventional talk therapy, when used alone, has not met the needs of the clients it is meant to serve. |

BTG’s holistic program addresses all three components of addiction. While continuing to provide education and individual and group therapy (mind) in a 12 Step-based program (spirit), we also treat the physical aspects of the disease (body). Research has shown that addiction significantly alters brain chemistry and depletes the body of essential nutrients. We focus on rebalancing the brain and building up the body through the use of oral and intravenous nutrient therapy, which significantly lessens the cravings experienced by most addicts.
- PHASE I – for addicts new to treatment or to our treatment model

Our clinical and medical teams evaluate each client to determine which program will offer the care and support needed every step of the way on the path to recovery. We provide a continuum of treatment options to suit the particular needs of each client.
BTG Integrative Addiction Treatment has chosen to remain a small rehabilitation center enabling us to provide our clients with the personal attention and individualized treatment that they deserve. From the time they arrive at our facility, our clients are aware of our staff's commitment to them and to their recovery.

| BTG is located in the picturesque, historic town of Winchester, Virginia, a strong recovery community with over eighty 12-Step meetings per week. Although we are within a 4-hour drive of many of the major metropolitan areas of the mid-Atlantic region, our small town atmosphere provides a safe, quiet environment in which to focus on the work of recovery – removed from the distractions of “big city life.” |
