Treating the Body for Long-Term Recovery from Addiction

At BTG, our integrative treatment programs are designed to treat the “whole person."  Along with treating the mind and the spirit, we simultaneously address the physical side of addiction in the following ways:

  • IV Nutritional/Biochemical Therapy – Research has shown that addiction significantly alters brain chemistry.  At BTG, our medical staff administers an individually tailored intravenous course of therapy to rapidly rebalance the brain, reducing “abstinence symptoms” such as cravings, anxiety, and fuzzy thinking, making it easier for our clients to absorb the counseling and educational aspects of our treatment program.

  • Oral Nutrients – Our Medical Staff customizes a daily regimen of oral supplements for each client, based on the results of a thorough history and physical, including a full battery of blood tests.

  • Healthy Diet – All of our clients’ meals and snacks are nutritionally-sound and appetizing, free of caffeine and sugar, which research has shown are triggers to addictive behavior.

  • Nutrition Education – These sessions are designed to teach our clients how to make healthy, nutritionally-sound lifestyle choices – a powerful tool for sustaining long-term recovery.  They are encouraged to continue to apply these healthy principles after leaving BTG.

  • Acu-detox – BTG’s clients receive Acu-detox five days a week.  This form of Chinese acupuncture has been shown to relieve many of the symptoms of withdrawal and abstinence.

  • Physical Exercise – Physical fitness is a crucial aspect of a healthy lifestyle and a valuable tool in recovery.  All of our clients are required to participate in physical activity at our local fitness center a minimum of five days a week.

  • Massage – Our clients appreciate the sense of well-being, reduced anxiety and depression, improved sleep, and pain reduction that they experience from massage therapy.
