Our Outpatient Programs in Virginia

Bridging the Gaps is committed to providing high-quality and cost-effective services for those with substance abuse.  Our outpatient programs are designed as part of our continuum of care. When you talk to our admissions director, you will be asked a series of questions to help determine the appropriate program for your individual needs.

Outpatient Programs are a fraction of the cost of Residential Treatment programs. This more affordable option can be a viable solution for many who have the appropriate structure and family support at home. We offer a variety of programs designed to meet your needs.  If you’re looking for non-residential addiction treatment, our Intensive Outpatient Program in Virginia could be the place for you.

Support from Family

In our Outpatient Programs, clients continue to live at home while engaging in treatment. For some, continuing to live in an environment that is considered comfortable and familiar can be reassuring.

Since people typically draw comfort from the people they live with, support from family members can be beneficial throughout the client’s recovery process.  Outpatient Programs allow a level of flexibility necessary for many who are required to deal with day-to-day responsibilities while they obtain care for their addictions.

Telehealth Rehab

In response to the pandemic, Bridging the Gaps has started to offer outpatient addiction treatment on a secure telehealth platform. Our qualified team can help you to determine if this is an appropriate treatment option for you or your loved one.

Telehealth rehab has been designed so that you can join our group sessions from home. You will be able to take part in our education sessions, group therapy, living skills, big book, and individual therapy online. You will join your peers that are also doing telehealth rehab, as well as those who are in residential treatment, for the full rehab experience from home.

BTG Outpatient Programs

Bridging the Gaps is committed to helping all people who suffer from substance use disorders find the treatment services they deserve. We offer three different evidence-based treatment programs designed to meet your unique needs.

Partial Hospitalization

Full-Day Structured Program

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Day Treatment, reflects our commitment to a full continuum of care.  It offers a rigorous option for individuals whose needs and circumstances make them candidates for a non-residential program.

We combine intensive, structured sessions and individualized attention with live at home flexibility.  Day treatment effectively addresses critical issues and barriers to recovery at a lower cost than residential treatment.

All-day treatment provides clients with an individualized treatment designed to meet their personal needs. By assessing a client’s previous treatment and exposure to recovery programs, all efforts are made to provide a new and challenging curriculum for the client.

As part of Bridging the Gaps’ integrative approach to mental health, individuals may choose to receive neurofeedback and intravenous therapy for an additional fee.  Upon meeting day treatment goals, a client has the opportunity to transition to a less intensive level of continuing care.  That includes IOP and/or our Continuing Care program.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Full-Day Structured Program

Bridging the Gaps recognizes that different people require different options for care. Our Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program is part of an ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, cost-effective, and comprehensive services designed to meet a range of client needs.

IOP provides structured and supportive treatment for individuals whose needs and circumstances may allow them to realize positive outcomes in a more flexible, non-residential setting. IOP will enable individuals to receive effective treatment modalities and personalized support.  With minimal disruption to everyday life, individuals can achieve this in their community.

As part of BTG’s integrative approach to supporting physiological healing, individuals may choose to receive neurofeedback, intravenous therapy, family therapy, and education for an additional fee.

BTG offers different treatment options for the IOP level of care.

Virtual IOP

Virtual IOP options in Virginia are now available. Take part in Bridging the Gaps’ full IOP program (excluding acudetox) from your home. You will be invited to join your peers through a secure online platform. Please contact our admissions director to learn more about whether a virtual IOP program is right for you.

Continuing Care

Outpatient Evening Program

Our continuing care (outpatient) program provides treatment for those engaged in the continuum of care at Bridging the Gaps or another treatment facility. The program provides accountability, support, and structure for maintaining long-term sobriety.

Within continuing care, clients are given a therapeutic opportunity to talk with their peers and counselors about their lives.  This involves talking about stressors, triggers and cravings, and navigating life in sobriety.

The commitment to the continuing care program is 44 weeks over the course of a year. In addition to the group and individual sessions, clients are expected to attend a minimum of three 12 Step meetings a week and be actively working with a 12 step sponsor.

Virtual outpatient sessions are available. Join our weekly group and individual sessions via telehealth.

Frequently Asked Questions

In many instances, IOP is used to treat eating disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, self-harm and substance abuse that does not rely on detoxification.

Depending on the facility, the length will range from a couple of months to one year. For intensive outpatient therapy, 90 days is the recommended minimum. There is, however, a variation in the duration of the program depending on the patient

At Bridging the Gaps, our IOP program involves daily therapeutic group sessions, an individualized treatment plan to help you meet your treatment goals, psychoeducational sessions on the physiological, psychological, social, familial, and spiritual aspects of addiction and more.
