A Holistic Approach to Addiction Treatment
Bridging The Gaps is a fully licensed, CARF-accredited treatment center located in Winchester, Virginia that concentrates on helping adults recover from drug and alcohol addiction. We are proud to be among the first treatment centers to receive the distinction of an ASAM certification for residential care which is awarded based on comprehensive criteria for outcome-oriented, results-based addiction treatment.
Break from Triggers and Temptations
Our residential rehabilitation treatment programs are designed for people with severe addiction, co-occurring disorders, or individuals who struggle with relapses. As the starting point for our continuum of care, the residential level of care provides the client with the opportunity to begin learning how to live comfortably without mind altering substances.
While acknowledging the valuable roles that emotional and spiritual development play in recovery we also focuses on the need to repair and rebalance deficits in brain chemistry related to the clients’ addictions.
We utilize amino acids and nutritional therapies to support early recovery and rebalance brain chemistry. By using an abstinence model, combined with targeted nutrients, our clients are able to feel better faster.
Addiction Treatment with the Comforts of Home
Our residential experience in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley emphasizes calm and comfort, designed to eliminate daily stressors and foster peace, enabling clients to concentrate on recovery. The serene environment supports spiritual and emotional healing and integrates residents into a close-knit community, enhancing collaboration, accountability, and trust. Here, individuals are free from daily obligations, allowing total focus on healing—mind, body, and spirit.
Our Residential Treatment Accommodations
Inside Bridging The Gaps
All of our residences provide a well-appointed, safe, and comfortable environment so clients can enjoy the comforts of home while working on physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Clients can prepare meals, work on therapeutic assignments, enjoy sober activities, and bond with their peers. Drayton and Sharrett Houses, our primary residences for early recovery clients, provide all of the typical home features, including:
● Spacious island-style, fully-appointed kitchens● Dining room, living room, and library/ areas● Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms● Front and back porches/patios for relaxing and gathering● In-home laundry facilities● Telephone, television, and internet access on a structured basis
The design, structure, and staffing of our residential program allows for support tailored to meet the needs of clients while providing a community feel. Residential clients live together in well appointed homes that simulate real life. Clients travel to the residence after the clinical day for a shared meal, fellowship, and time to unwind. In the morning, they return to our clinical building just like they are going to work or school. By simulating normal life, clients learn how to navigate life skills and practice building strong relationships with their peers.

Learn What Sets Us Apart
In order to create a healthy, sustainable recovery from drugs and alcohol, it is important to address the root cause. So our residential substance abuse treatment includes rebalancing brain chemistry, utilizing comprehensive psychotherapy, implementing proper nutrition, and nourishing one’s spirituality.
Our long-term continuum of care allows our clients to progress through our program at a pace that fits the severity of their disease, allowing them adequate time to heal that is unique to their individual situation. Research has shown that clients who stay engaged in treatment for longer have better long-term results once treatment is completed.
Our supportive sober living allows clients to reintegrate into society safely, allowing them to utilize their newly-acquired life skills and coping mechanisms in everyday situations as they continue to benefit from a sober community. Our 3 residences provide the comforts of home with added support and accountability.
