Partial Hospitalization Rehab Program

Full-Day Structured Program

Bridging the Gaps is committed to helping all people who suffer from substance use disorders find the treatment services that they deserve. Our Partial Hospitalization (PHP) program (commonly referred to as day treatment) reflects our commitment to a full continuum of care and offers a rigorous option for individuals whose needs and circumstances make them candidates for a non-residential program.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Day Treatment, reflects our commitment to a full continuum of care. It offers a rigorous option for individuals whose needs and circumstances make them candidates for a non-residential program. A partial hospitalization rehab program provides a high level of care during the day, and allows clients to go home in the evening.

We combine intensive, structured sessions and individualized attention with live at home flexibility.  Day treatment effectively addresses critical issues and barriers to recovery at a lower cost than residential treatment.

All-day treatment provides clients with an individualized treatment designed to meet their personal needs. By assessing a client’s previous treatment and exposure to recovery programs, all efforts are made to provide a new and challenging curriculum for the client.

Upon meeting day treatment goals, a client has the opportunity to transition to a less intensive level of continuing care.  That includes IOP and/or our Continuing Care program.

Benefits of a Partial Hospitalization Program in Addiction Treatment

A partial hospitalization program for substance abuse could provide a number of benefits to participants. This includes:

  • Flexibility: These programs tend to be very flexible in that they allow a person to live at home while obtaining care. This could be much more flexible in terms of being around family compared to residential treatment.
  • Cost-effective: Many times, because a person does not live at the treatment center, an addiction partial hospitalization program could cost less than what you would pay for an inpatient program.
  • Professional help: During this type of program, patients have access to medical and mental health care providers to help them with their advanced needs and provide ongoing monitoring.
  • Support transitioning: A partial hospitalization program for addiction could help you go from residential treatment to outpatient treatment in a step-by-step manner, minimizing the dramatic change.

All day treatment clients are provided with individualized treatment designed to meet their personal needs. With an eye toward a client’s previous treatment experiences and exposure to key recovery concepts, all efforts are made to provide a curriculum that is new and challenging for the client.

Upon meeting identified day treatment goals, a client has the opportunity to transition to a less intensive level of continuing care, including our Intensive Outpatient and/or our Continuing Care program.

Frequently Asked Questions

A partial hospitalization program or rehab provides patients with a way to step down in the care they receive. Some individuals will go from residential treatment to PHP. Other times, they may start with PHP. This type of treatment program provides individuals with therapeutic treatment in a treatment center most days of the week. During this time, they may engage in a range of treatment programs, including individual counseling, group therapy, behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. After treatment during the day, the individual goes home for the evening.

PHP programs usually differ based on the specific needs of the patient. Some programs require between six and eight hours of treatment during each session. Many times, patients receive treatment five to seven days per week, again based on their unique needs. This may go on from four to six weeks, sometimes longer, depending on whether the individual remains in treatment consistently. At Bridging the Gaps, our partial hospitalization programs include at least 6 hours a day of treatment, 5 days a week, and typically last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is more intensive than an intensive outpatient program (IOP). In an IOP, there is less structure and less time committed to treatment. An IOP program still has intense therapy, but it is less than that of PHP. The main difference at Bridging the Gaps is that our PHP programs include a full day of treatment whereas our IOP programs are only half a day long.
