Recovery From Addiction

Finding the Right Place for You

Choosing an addiction treatment provider can feel like an overwhelming decision. We understand that you may have many questions about why one rehab stands out from another. This is especially true when aspects of your life already feel unmanageable due to the impact that addiction has on both you and your family.
According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, addiction is defined as “A treatable, chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among brain circuits, genetics, the environment, and an individual’s life experiences.” It’s important to recognize that addiction is a treatable disorder, not a moral failing or lack of willpower. Receiving high- quality treatment from the right provider is a crucial step towards long-term recovery.

At BTG, we believe that everyone should have access to treatment. We also understand that we alone cannot care for the millions of Americans impacted by addiction each year. As a small program with a compassionate approach, we feel privileged to be able to support and make a difference in the lives of those who entrust us with their most challenging and vulnerable moments.
Deciding whether BTG is the right fit for you or your loved one is a deeply personal choice but we’re here to offer information and guidance allowing you to make an informed decision based on our commitment to empathetic support. Reach out today to learn more about how our customized treatment plans can meet your specific needs.

We are Small & Supportive

The Antidote to Addiction is Connection

You might want to consider the size of the program when choosing a treatment center. Bigger programs might have some shiny bells and whistles, like professional chefs or private rooms. However, at Bridging the Gaps we believe the antidote to addiction is connection. We strive to teach our clients important life skills, like shopping for and cooking nutritious meals, that they can utilize once they leave treatment. Also, addiction is an isolating disease, and we believe forging a community during the treatment process will help clients persist through the potential pitfalls of recovery.

What you will find at BTG is a small, boutique program that is incredibly invested in you, or your loved one, getting better. Our cohort size, the clients attending daily groups together, is typically between 10 and 15 clients. We do this with a clinical team of approximately 10 counselors, which means each client gets the time and attention they deserve. We invest in our staff to provide the highest quality of care that we can. In the end, this is what will truly impact the clients’ long-term recovery.

FAQs

Find answers to commonly asked questions about addiction and recovery.

  • What is the family interaction model of addiction?

Sometimes we say “addiction is a family disease.”The family interaction model of addiction suggests that addiction is influenced by family behaviors and interactions. According to this model, dysfunctional family dynamics can contribute to or exacerbate addictive behaviors. This model emphasizes the need for family therapy to address and rectify these dynamics, aiming to improve the overall functioning of the family and support the individual’s recovery.

  • What are the roles of family members in the treatment of addiction?

Family members play crucial roles in addiction treatment, including providing emotional support, participating in family therapy sessions, and learning about the dynamics of addiction. They help reinforce the recovery environment and can offer accountability and encouragement for their loved one throughout the treatment process. Through our family program we bring family members actively into the treatment process.

  • Why is it important to involve the family in the treatment plan?

It helps repair and strengthen family relationships, which can be pivotal in recovery. Family involvement educates members on the complexities of addiction and recovery, fostering a supportive home environment that can reduce the likelihood of relapse. Plus, the impact of a loved one's addiction and dealing with this disease often necessitates healing for family members as well.

  • What are the pros and cons of including family members in the treatment of addiction?

Pros:● Strengthens family bonds and improves communication.● Educates family members about addiction, enabling better support. Increases the support network, which is crucial for long-term recovery.
    Cons:
Family dynamics can sometimes be a source of stress or triggers. Differences in commitment among family members can lead to inconsistencies in support. Potential for unresolved family conflicts to surface, which might complicate recovery if not properly managed.
